The setup and unboxing process will take just few minutes, make sure that you have an iOS device handy. You will need iOS 11.2.5 to interact with the HomePod.

During the setup process, HomePod will link itself to a primary iCloud account to allow it to handle requests for messages, notes or reminders, and you will need an iOS device running iOS 11.2.5 or later to even begin the process at all. If you have an iPhone or an iPad to hand, the only other thing to factor in is the requirement to have iCloud Keychain and two-factor authentication activated.

Step 1: You will get a popup; tap Set Up.

Step 2: If you use homekit, you’ll be requested which home you want the Homepod associated with. Select the room your HomePod is in from the pre-populated list of room names. Your HomePod will be added to the iOS Home app and assigned to the room you specify here.

Step 3: Next, choose if you want to enable Personal Requests. This feature allows Siri to read your messages and access your notes and reminders so it can tell you what steps to do you have coming up. If you will not enable this, you will be away from many functions of the HomePod.

Step 4:  In case, if you require siri on the off chance that you need to get right of passage to messages, updates and notes at whatever point your ios device is at a similar netowrk, select permit private request. Else, Select not now option. Don’t take stress; this will be changed later whenever required.

Step 5: Click on the “Agree” when presented with Apple’s terms and conditions. Read out them!
